Go live without a project.
Relay is one connection from your company to every agency management system. Start with the AL3 files you already produce for your current provider. Relay detects the setup, and your team keeps doing what it does today.
Seven steps, most of them a single click
The Launchpad walks you from first upload to publishing. Every step has a working default.
- Step 1
Upload a sample file
Drop one of the download files you already send today: AL3, DAT, XML or JSON. No changes needed. Sample files stay in your sandbox and are never delivered.
- Step 2
Confirm what we found
Relay reads every header and lists your writing companies, lines, transaction types and agency codes. You check the boxes. Nothing is retyped.
- Step 3
Preview what agencies will see
Three transactions from your own file render in the agency transaction viewer, next to the policy object and the AL3 an older AMS would import.
- Step 4
Choose how files reach Relay
Run the Relay Uploader next to your existing export job, add one HTTPS upload line, or push transactions in real time over the API.
- Step 5
Add your agency roster
Upload the agencies you've appointed, or use the codes found in your file. Agencies on your roster verify themselves in seconds instead of waiting in a queue.
- Step 6
Set approval rules
The recommended rules are pre-selected: roster email domain, a code sent to your roster contact, or your own agent-portal sign-in. Everything else comes to a review queue.
- Step 7
Pilot, then publish
Go live with up to ten invited agencies first. When delivery has proven itself, publish to the whole network with one click.
Keep your current download running
Dual-run is on by default. Relay is an extra destination for a file you already make, not a replacement for anything on day one.
Relay Uploader
# Watches your export folder and uploads each new file once.
export RELAY_KEY=rk_live_…
npx @emerald-relay/uploader watch /exports/al3 --env liveOutbound only, so you open no firewall ports. Reads the key from an environment variable, never logs file contents, and never deletes your source files unless you ask it to.
- Detect mode
- Reads your file headers to find NAIC codes, agency codes, lines and record counts. No AI runs on carrier data in this step, so results are deterministic.
- Real-time API
- When you're ready, push transactions as they're issued. Agencies see changes in seconds instead of the next morning.
- Book sync
- Give a newly connected agency its full book once, so its system starts complete instead of waiting a term for every policy to renew.
What your operations team sees
- Proof of delivery
- Every transaction shows which agency systems received it and whether they applied it. Disputes start with facts.
- Unrouted transactions
- Codes that don't match a connected agency are held and listed, not silently dropped.
- Connection requests
- Roster matches approve themselves. The rest arrive in one queue with the evidence the agency supplied.
- Insights
- Which agencies are connected, which systems they use, and where data-quality issues come from.
